The former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer always keeps the cricket on-lookers entertained with his funny and engaging memes on the game. This time around he has come forward with yet another meme that has grabbed the attention of the netizens. He has reacted to Richard Kettleborough being the on-field umpire for the upcoming India-New Zealand clash.
Richard Kettleborough and Marais Erasmus are all set to be the on-field officials in India’s crucial encounter against the Kiwis. Jaffer took it to his social media accounts to share a witty meme on this fact. Kettleborough has been quite unlucky for India so far. The English umpire has been the official in quite a few matches of the Virat Kohli-led side, which the team has eventually ended up on the losing side.
He officiated in the game wherein team India faced defeat against Sri Lanka in the finals of the T20 World Cup in 2014. The umpire was also present on the field when India lost the semifinals of the ICC’s 50-over World Cup in 2015. When India faced a dismaying loss against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017, Kettleborough was present as the match official and also during India’s heartbreaking loss to New Zealand in the 2019 50-over World Cup.
Taking into account these points, Jaffer took it to his official Twitter account to humorously wish the fans a happy Halloween. He posted the meme and wrote: “Happy Halloween Indian fans 🎃 #INDvNZ #T20WorldCup.”

India and New Zealand looking to open their account in the mega event
Both the teams lost their opening fixtures of the T20 World Cup 2021 to Pakistan. Heading into this game the teams will be keen on securing a win to register their first victory of the marquee event. A defeat here might hamper the teams’ chances of advancing to the semifinals of the tournament.
New Zealand’s pacer Tim Southee can pose great threats to India’s batting lineup. He has dismissed the Indian skipper Virat Kohli on ten occasions in international cricket which is the most by any bowler. Though, India’s bowlers went wicketless in the game against Pakistan, they possess the ability to tear apart the strongest of batting units. It will be an intriguing contest to watch out for.
