This has to be one of the greatest encounters between both these sides ever. An ICC trophy final, both the sides looking to win the maiden T20 WC, what could possibly be more interesting than this?

After winning the toss and electing to bat, India scored 157 runs on the board. One of the major contributors of this innings was Gautam Gambhir who went on to score 75 from 54 balls. Rohit Sharma played a handy cameo where he scored 30 from just the 16 deliveries.

Pakistan then looked to chase the total but lost wickets at regular intervals. However, Misbah-ul-Haq was playing a superb inning and almost won the game for his side before playing an audacious scoop. He played that shot despite Pakistan needing just 6 runs from 4 balls. That scoop brought about his downfall as Sreesanth managed to grab that catch. Thus, India ended up winning the maiden T20 WC in 2007.
