Asian Games Men's Cricket 2023 Points Table
The Asian Games 2022 is the 19th edition of the quadrennial event being held in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China, where athletes from all over Asia will be taking part. The event was originally scheduled to take place in September 2022 but got postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hence, it officially began in September 2023 and will also feature a cricket event for the third time in its history.
The Women’s cricket event is already underway from September 19 while the men’s event will start from September 27, 2023 with a game between Nepal and Japan. The event will feature 15 teams taking on each other with the games taking place in the 20-over format. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have qualified for the quarter-final already due to their higher T20I rankings.
On the other hand, Afghanistan, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand are divided into four groups. Teams finishing on the top in every group will qualify for the quarter-finals and will take on the already qualified four teams. Zhejiang Cricket Field, Hangzhou will be the centre stage for all the cricketing action during the Asian Games 2022.
