T20 World Cup 2026 Squads

With the idea of spreading cricket across the globe, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to increase the number of teams in the upcoming T20 World Cup. A total of 20 teams have qualified for the upcoming mega tournament, which is slated to begin on June 1 and will be played in the West Indies and in the United States of America.

Apart from the usual ones, that are Australia, India, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and South Africa, new teams such as Uganda, Papua New Guinea, Oman and Canada have qualified for the upcoming T20 World Cup as well. The ICC has divided 20 teams into four groups, with five teams each, and the top two teams from each group will then go on to play the Super 8.

The top four teams in the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024 points table will then advance to the semis. The two winners of the semi-finale will battle it out in the final on June 29 at the Kensington Oval, Barbados. Meanwhile, ahead of the actual tournament, all the teams are slated to play practice matches to get used to the conditions as the USA would be hosting their first major international tournament in history.

As per the T20 World Cup 2024 schedule, the mega tournament will begin on June 1 with hosts USA taking on Canada, while the other host West Indies are slated to take on Papua New Guinea later in the day. Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will also square off at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
