Talented Assam pacer Bivakar Nag passed away in a tragic incident in Kakosang Waterfalls

Disaster Response Force found two bodies including that of Bivakar Nag in search operation on Monday.

The talented cricketer from Assam, Bivakar Nag’s body was found on Monday after he, along with his other friend, Sudip Bagchi went missing. A total of eight friends including Bivakar and Sudip had visited the Kakosang Waterfalls in Karbi Anglong. A search operation was conducted by Disaster Response Force on Monday when they found the body of the cricketer and his friend.

Bivakar Nag was a talented pace bowler and had represented his state at the U19 level in Cooch Behar Trophy in 2019-20 season. He was one of the lead pacers in the team and had played a key role in Assam defeating some of the top ranked state teams in the tournament.

Secretary of Assam Cricket Association revealed the news

The secretary of the Assam Cricket Association, Devajit Lon Saikia posted on Facebook to reveal the news and paid heartfelt condolences to Bivakar Nag’s family. He also lauded the cricketer for his contribution to Assam Cricket and also added that he will be missed in the future. Devajit also mentioned that Bivakar certainly had a bright future for the way he was bowling and was saddened by his demise.

“Deeply saddened for sudden demise of upcoming & promising pace bowler Bivakar Nag in a tragic incident in Kakosang Waterfalls near Bokakhat in Karbi Anglong District yesterday. Apart from various age group tournaments, he represented Assam under -19 team in Cooch Behar Trophy in the season 2019-20 and was instrumental in the team’s stupendous success in defeating several front ranking State Teams of the country.

“He was definitely a bright bowling prospect of our State who will be immensely missed. On behalf of Assam Cricket Association, I express heartfelt condolences to his parents, friends & well-wishers & prayers for eternal peace of the departed soul,” Devajit wrote in his Facebook post.

Assam has been faring decently at the domestic level and is unfurling some exciting cricketers. But they will now miss Bivakar Nag in the upcoming matches. The pace bowler would’ve done wonders to the team in senior cricket but he lost his life in a tragic incident.
