Tamil Nadu speedster T Natarajan is one of the most promising bowling prospects for the state. The 26-year-old has played for Punjab in this year’s Indian Premier League and he did a decent job in his state’s T20 competition as well. Natarajan was ruled out of this year’s ongoing Ranji season due to an elbow injury, and he will undergo a surgery in Mumbai on Friday ( November 24).

He was in the news after Kings XI Punjab roped him for INR 3 Crores. The pacer has played 9 first-class matches so far and picked up 27 wickets. He has also bagged six wickets from 11 T20s. He told the media that he has been advised an elbow arthroscopy by a specialist in Mumbai.

He said that the doctor had advised him not to carry on playing in this condition He also thanked his state association for standing for him and supporting him at this hour of crisis. “After examining reports, I was told that it was not advisable to carry on with the existing condition as the issue is with my bowling hand. Thus, I have been asked to undergo an elbow arthroscopic surgery. I will be heading to Mumbai on Thursday and the surgery is on 24th. The last month or so has been quite tough for me. However, the TNCA has guided and supported me exceptionally through these difficult times,” Natarajan told TOI.

One of the TNCA official said Natarajan is expected to be out of action for about six weeks post-surgery. He also said that the pacer is their key man and therefore they won’t hurry up “It’s important to ensure that he recovers well as he is one of our key pacers. After surgery he will begin rehab in Chennai under the supervision of TNCA physios and trainers,” said the official.
