Over the past few years, Virat Kohli has notched up his fitness levels and the current Indian skipper is regarded as one of the fittest players of the sport. Kohli’s hard work, on-field commitment and fitness are second to none when you compare it with other world-class cricketers on the international stage.

However, Bangladesh ODI skipper opined that there’s one more cricketer who can be considered as a role model for all Bangladeshi cricketers. Tamim said that it was Mushfiqur Rahim’s hard work and work ethics which set him apart from other cricketers. The Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman has always been considered as one of the most hardworking cricketers in the Bangladesh side.

Mushfiqur is always disciplined and hardworking on and off the field. Moreover, his is never absent from optional practices and hence, he is lauded by many cricketers for being a workhorse. Tamim and Mushfiqur, on Saturday, were involved in a live Instagram chat where the duo discussed their life in quarantine.

Tamim Iqbal lauds Mushfiqur Rahim’s discipline

Tamim joked about how difficult it is for Mushfiqur not to be able to practice under home quarantine at this time and said, “You haven’t held a bat for 40 days, it seems like it hasn’t happened in the last 10-12 years!”

Mushfiqur smile and responded, “I hold the bat, I bat as much as possible at home!” In this context, Tamim said, Mushfiqur can be followed by everyone in Bangladesh.

Tamim also lauded Mushfiqur’s work ethic and compared it with Virat Kohli. Tamim said that Mushfiqur was a role model for all Bangladeshi people and added that the wicketkeeper-batsman was the hardest working among the side.

Tamim said, “You are the hardest working among us. I wonder how a man can work so much hard. I can’t do that much, I try to do as much as I need to play. Everyone gives the example of Virat Kohli, I think you are a great example in our country. If anyone follows you, he won’t need to see anyone else.”

To this, Mushfiqur responded and said that he isn’t a special talent like Tamim, Shakib Al Hasan or Mahmudullah Riyad. Thus, he has to keep working hard to excel in the game.

“But I always say, I am not a special talent like you or Shakib, or like Riyad Bhai. So, if I want to go to that stage, I have to do something special! That is why I work so hard,” responded Mushfiqur.
