Taskin Ahmed ties the knot with his girlfriend

Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed has tied the knot with his girlfriend Sayeda Rabeya soon after arriving from South Africa. The cricketer was battling it out against Proteas across the formats and has just returned home. His national teammates were also present in the function to congratulate him on his wedding. Taskin will now hope to start the new innings of his life in a brighter way as he is set to feature for Chittagong Vikings in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The marriage ceremony took place at a Convention Center in Shyamoli. As per reports, the couple was already engaged a few years ago and now they have officially completed the rituals. Taskin’s wife Sayeda studies in the American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB). The fast bowler reportedly is also a student of the same university. Mashrafe Mortaza, the skipper of limited overs format, is known to be very close to the cricketer and attended the function with his whole family.

What next for Taskin?

The recently concluded tour of South Africa was extremely disappointing for the Bangladesh team where they couldn’t even compete against the strong Proteas side. They looked helpless at times and especially the bowlers literally huffed and puffed to take wickets. Taskin Ahmed was not the exception as well and endured a poor series. He failed to provide the breakthroughs to the team and leaked runs by dishing out hit me deliveries to the batsmen.

The 22-year-old youngster is rated very highly but struggled completely in the alien conditions. He could only pick two wickets across the formats and conceded runs at 8.25 per over in ODIs to go with 12.40 per over in T20Is. He also couldn’t pick up a single wicket in the solitary Test match he played. Taskin would love to get back into the groove quickly in the upcoming BPL, the T20 tournament of the country.
