There is no hard worker on the sportsfield other than a sportsperson and cricket is no different from that. Although it is a team sport but each player gives his best in order to make his side win the matches. After the successful completion of the game, the board should also provide their players with premium facilities in order to give their body proper rest. Now, BCCI and team management of Team India have come up with an opportunity for every player to earn a ticket of business class for themselves.
In Tests, fast bowlers are the ones who have to bowl big spells at a speed of 135 km/h and above. Considering this fact they deserve to travel in more comfort.
BCCI came out with a new idea for the players to earn tickets
A source of BCCI told Indian Express that after the first Test Mohammed Shami got to travel in business class. Before him, it was Ishant Sharma who grabbed one for him. It is a part of a team bonding exercise where the best performer of the concluded game will get to travel in the business class.
“The entire team can’t get seats in business class. Those seats are few in number. So the team management decided to reward business class seats for performers. After the Vizag Test, Shami was given a business class seat. Before that Ishant got it,” sources in the BCCI told The Indian Express.
There is one new introduction made in the rules. Earlier, the coach and skipper used to get big rooms in the hotel where the team used to stay. From now onwards the vice-captain will also get the privilege to stay in the same. This means Ajinkya Rahane during Tests and Rohit Sharma in limited-overs will be given a premium suites in the upcoming series, “Now it is decided that the vice-captain should get the third suite as he is the second-most important person in the team,” source added.
This decision came after new manager Girish Dongre declined to take a big room provided to him. When BCCI finalize the deals with hotels, they get three big suites at a normal fare. And Head coach Ravi Shastri and India skipper Virat Kohli used to take two of the three and one was given to the team manager.
