Cricket is all about teamwork. Players always keep the team above themselves fight even in the toughest conditions. It is also like a family away from family for them and they stand up for each other when the time is hard. Something similar happened with team India in Sydney in the third Test against Australia. Already suffering from a lot of injuries, the visitors were in more trouble after Ravindra Jadeja suffered a thumb fracture.

Jadeja was hit on his left thumb by Mitchell Starc with a bouncer in the first innings. It was later revealed that he has sustained a fracture and didn’t bowl in the second innings too. However, the left-hander is padded up to bat if needed for India and is sitting in the dressing room waiting for his chance to come.

Having injured his left thumb, Ravindra Jadeja has already worn the batting glove while his right hand is open. When the refreshments came in the Indian camp, he picked up a banana but was unable to peel it off as his left-hand was in a glove. At this time, Navdeep Saini who was sitting beside him helped him in peeling off a banana being an ideal example of teamwork.

Though this isn’t a huge incident, it also makes one realise the importance of teamwork in a sport and the way teammates stand up for each other during tough times.

Here’s the video:

Team India stand strong amidst racial abuse

Team India’s character has been tested not only on the field but off it as well. During the course of the Sydney Test, the likes of Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah were racially abused on the second and third day. The visitors lodged an official complaint as well but even then, the incident repeated on the fourth day. Siraj was quick to lodge a complaint and again, the team got together to stop play until the spectators were told to leave the stadium.

India got into a huddle then with even Tim Paine who was batting also being part of it and the teamwork was on display. Even Paine was praised for supporting the touring party.
