Last few days haven’t gone well for Indian Cricket, it started off with defeat against the arch-rivals Pakistan in Champions Trophy final, then Anil Kumble stepped down as the Indian Cricket Team’s head coach and now, if the sources are to be believed, the applications sent by the applicants for the post head coach haven’t yet received a response from the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI).

Last year, the Committee Advisory Committee (CAC) had appointed Anil Kumble the head coach of the team for a stint of one year. Moreover, CAC which includes, Saurav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar also showed their willingness to extend his tenure till 2019 World Cup.

A month and a half ago, BCCI had invited applications for the post of head coach where both former Indian cricketers and overseas cricketers applied. It became all the more interesting when Kumble was asked to re-apply for his current post. However, yesterday the former Indian captain stepped down from his post and clarified his intention of discontinuing.

Applicants are yet to receive a response from BCCI

It has been believed that the BCCI hasn’t acknowledged receipt of the CV’s sent by few former cricketers, who have applied for the position.

The applicant wasn’t happy that BCCI hasn’t reverted to his application and expressed the same by asking, “I am a respected cricketer in my country and is this the way to treat us? I don’t know whether my CV has reached the proper channel. The BCCI claims to be a professional body. Is this professionalism,” reports quoted an applicant as saying.

“They (BCCI) have no courtesy to acknowledge my CV. I would have been happy if even a one-line note been sent to me, leave aside whether my application would be considered or not,” he added.

The applicant remarked that BCCI is trying to ‘fool’ the applicant.

“The BCCI is trying to fool all of us. They have made a mess of the situation,” he concluded.
