Mukesh Choudhary has succeeded in making a name for himself by making the most of the opportunities that he has got while representing the Chennai Super Kings. While the left-arm pacer has delivered several sensational spells in the ongoing IPL 2022, it was his toe-crushing yorker to MI batter Ishan Kishan that stood out the most.

Meanwhile, the emerging pacer has also spoken about MS Dhoni’s unique leadership styles. At the same time, Choudhary has also picked his all-time favourite on-field moment of the legendary cricketer which happened to be that memorable six off Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Kulasekara in the 2011 World Cup final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 2, 20211.

MS Dhoni has an abundance of knowledge: Mukesh Choudhary

“Whenever I see that winning six, I get goosebumps. The moment Dhoni sir hit that winning six and hugged Yuvraj Singh, I decided I would also play for India someday. I used to play cricket, but I began taking the game more seriously after that historic moment. The 2011 World Cup team inspired me a lot”, said Mukesh while speaking to The Times of India.

“I spoke about the triumph with Dhoni sir. He has an abundance of knowledge”, he added.

Mukesh got a chance to feature in CSK’s playing XI on a regular basis as all-rounder Deepak Chahar’s tournament came to an abrupt end due to injury issues. However, it also needs to be noted that Choudhary has got some amount of experience under his belt, having registered 17 scalps to his name from 12 List A matches representing Maharashtra.

The budding cricketer has so far taken 11 wickets from eight matches averaging 25.45 and an economy rate of 9.82. He would be hoping to find a mention in the Purple Cap list going forward. After a morale-boosting 13-run win in the last game against SRH, CSK would be eager to register yet another victory when they meet a demoralized RCB at Pune’s MCA Stadium on May 4.
