Virat Kohli is not only the captain of the Indian Cricket team but also an icon for the nation. There have been several instances when the Delhi batsman has come up and voiced his opinion on the social matter. After the outbreak of the coronavirus, the batsman tried his best to spread awareness regarding the virus through his social media accounts.

A couple of days ago, Virat Kohli had made a video with Bollywood actress and his wife, Anushka Sharma regarding this. He had uploaded the video on Twitter. In that video, the couple urged the fans and the citizens of the country to follow the lockdown strictly as per the instruction of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

But, three days into the 21-day lockdown, the Indian captain has uploaded another video on Twitter. In the video, Kohli says that he is not at all impressed with the way people have been taking this lockdown. He said that he is not impressed after seeing people roaming around in the streets by not following the curfew or lockdown.

‘Please wake up to the reality’: Virat Kohli

The Indian skipper began the video by saying that he will not speak to his fans today as an Indian cricketer but wishes to address them as an Indian citizen. His entire message was in Hindi. He praised the Indian government and the medical experts for what they are doing in these trying times.

Kohli repeatedly urged the public to follow the instructions as been laid down by the Indian government. The caption of the post was, “Please wake up to the reality and seriousness of the situation and take responsibility. The nation needs our support and honesty.”

According to him, we can get over this entire global pandemic and move ahead again only if we stay home and fight this together. He also said that his fellow citizens are not taking this seriously. According to him, the war against COVID-19 might seem simple but it really isn’t.

The legendary batsman also said that it’s time for all of us to act as good citizens of the country and follow all the rules and regulations laid down to us. The 31-year-old also said it’s not required for all of us to go out there and joke around in the streets as it could lead to the spread of the virus and cause terrible side effects to our country.
