'The spell of the summer so far' - Shane Warne heaps praises on Jasprit Bumrah’s Oval spell

England and India entered into the final day of the fourth Test match with all the three results looking possible. The England openers gave a flying start to the team and strengthened the team’s position. At the start of day five, the visitors required 291 runs and India ten wickets to win. The Indian bowlers however rose to the occasion and the spearhead of India’s pace attack Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc by his spell.

Bumrah first scalped the wicket of Ollie Pope who got beaten by the pace and the ball shattered the stumps. With this wicket, he reached the milestone of 100 Test wickets. But the wicket that fetched in praises to the pacer from all around the cricketing world is that of England’s keeper-batter Jonny Bairstow. No wonder that it was a special wicket as Bumrah brought up his lethal yorker owing to which Bairstow had to walk back to the pavilion.

Shane Warne lauds Jasprit Bumrah’s spell

A perfect Yorker from Bumrah hit the middle stumps and Bairstow was all clueless. He tried to dig it out but before he could get his bat down, the ball shattered the stumps. That eventually piled up the pressure on the hosts. This dismissal grabbed the attention of the fans and experts. The former Australian cricketer Shane Warne was also impressed by Bumrah’s spell and heaped praises on the pacer.

Warne took it to his official Twitter account and wrote: “Take a bow@Jaspritbumrah93! That spell of 6.3.6.2 was outstanding and the spell of the summer so far. A class above any other fast bowler in this test match on a flat wicket! Outstanding @SkyCricket”

Jasprit Bumrah is one of the strongest links of team India’s chain. In the match so far, he has looked extremely lethal and has provided the team with crucial breakthroughs. The former India cricketer Virender Sehwag also took it to Twitter to praise the speedster. He posted a video of the fall of wickets and wrote: “Stump Tod. Bumrah is a beast. Kya spell hai. Terrific”

The ongoing Test match turned out to be yet another enthralling contest. Virat Kohli and company registered a historic win over home team by 157 runs wheretheir  teamwork in every department bagged a lot of appreciation.
