The Young Guns; Emerging Players XI – IPL 2015: The IPL is a Global platform which has showered many young cricketers the opportunity to prove and make a name in front of big crowds and millions of viewers all around the globe. This also leads to sharing dressing rooms with established international stars. IPL in general, has changed the manner in which the game is played. Over the years we have seen Indian Youngsters matching shoulders with international players to play innovative shots, going after the leading bowlers in the world, notching them over the park and so on. This season has been no different, as many youngsters have emerged to make headlines with some creative display of cricket on the field. Some of them are even considered as possible future stars for the Men-In-Blue.

In this context, let us take a look at some Indian young guns who have made a name for themselves in this edition’s extravaganza, to make in our IPL Emerging Xi.

The Mumbai lad has been a revolution for the Daredevils side, his attacking batting display has been key to DD’s fortunes this season. Coming from a brilliant Ranji season, Iyer grabbed the IPL opportunity with both hands scoring heavily in the league stage. The 20-year-old was among top-5 run getters during the mid-half of the tournament, in the list which comprised of the names like Ajinkya Rahane, David Warner, Rohit Sharma, Brendon McCullum etc.  The talented opener has managed to score 439 runs in 14 games with an impressive average of 33.76 in his debut season with DD. He was declared the Emerging Player of the IPL 2015.

Iyer has been among the most talked about young Indians in IPL 2015. He had entered the players’ auction with a base price of Rs.10 lakhs, and was rope in by the Delhi franchise for a whopping Rs.2.6 crores, almost like a reward for his stellar shows off late.
