Gautam Gambhir has never been known to mince words. He was in the face of the opposition during his cricketing career and has been doing the same after becoming a politician. During the Coronavirus pandemic, he has been doing his bit as the BJP MP in Delhi and has donated his two years’ salary to the PM CARES Fund while also releasing money from his MPLAD Fund for the equipments needed for treatment of COVID-19 patients.

On Monday, he announced to donate Rs 50 lakh from his MPLAD Fund for the second time. He had done it before a few days ago but has claimed now that none from the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s office contacted him or his office stating the requirements. Moreover, he has lashed out at the Delhi CM over the same mentioning that his ego didn’t allow him to take help from the former India cricketer.

Gambhir took to Twitter to express his views and also felt that the Delhi people should not suffer for such reasons. He also wrote a letter to the Kejriwal to let him know about his donation of Rs 50 lakh more. Gautam Gambhir also hoped that Rs 1 crore will at least solve the urgent need of masks and PPE kits in the state.

“CM @ArvindKejriwal & his Dy say funds are needed. Though their massive egos didn’t allow them to take 50 L from my LAD fund earlier, I pledge 50 L more so that innocents don’t suffer! 1 CR would at least solve urgent need for masks & PPE kits for days Hope they prioritize Delhi,” his tweet read. Delhi has so far witnessed 503 positive cases in the state.

Here’s his tweet:

Kindly direct the officers-in-charge to share requirements: Gambhir

Earlier, the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had claimed that the Union Government didn’t send them even a single PPE kits despite requesting them supply the kits essential for doctors and nurses. In the letter written to the Delhi Government, Gautam Gambhir also requested it to direct the concerned the officers to let his office know about the requirements.

“Kindly direct the officers-in-charge to share requirements with my office. During this time of pandemic, the welfare of the citizens of Delhi is of utmost importance,” a part of the letter read.
