There's nothing like natural game, its all about the team, says Hardik Pandya

For many years now, India has been longing for a fast bowling genuine all-rounder. After years of search by hit and trial, India found a world class all rounder in Hardik Pandya. In a recent interview, the Baroda cricketer opened up about a variety of pointers given by stalwarts such as Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli which helped him grow as a cricketer.

Previously, Hardik went on record to claim that during his stint with the India ‘A’ team, coach Rahul Dravid helped him understand the game of cricket. This time around, Pandya cited out few instances when the veteran gave practical examples of his learnings.

“You can’t just be hitting everything when your team requires you to play in a certain way. It’s all about the team. Dravid explained there’s nothing like a natural game,” stated Hardik Pandya according to his interview with Sportstarlive.

The likes of Virat and M.S. really helped me: Hardik

During one of the team meetings, Dravid asked an anonymous player about his plans for a particular match. To which the youngster replied by saying he would stick to his natural game. Dravid then explained there’s nothing like a natural game.

“If your team is like 45 for six, and if you go out and hit in the air, get out and say it’s my natural game, that’s not one’s natural game. For me, it’s stupidity,” justified Pandya about Dravid’s statement. The Mumbai Indians batsman further suggested that the likes of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli played a significant role in his maturity as a cricketer.

“He (Dravid) always cited examples of being smart enough to tweak the game according to the situation. I am fortunate enough to learn it from the legends. Even the likes of Virat (Kohli) and M.S. (Dhoni) keep discussing the same. It’s really helped me,” concluded the 24-year old.
