The final over of the 2016 T20 World Cup is one that will not be forgotten by Ben Stokes as well as every England cricket fan. The West Indies side needed 19 runs to win off the final over, and Ben Stokes had the ball in his hand.

And, Carlos Brathwaite absolutely decimated Stokes. The big West Indian cricketer hit Stokes for 4 consecutive sixes and helped his side clinch the T20 World Cup title in a dramatic fashion. And, the image of Stokes sitting with his hands on his face is one that will not be forgotten.

And, five years later, the roles were reversed. Ben Stokes absolutely pummeled Brathwaite in the match between Durham and Birmingham Bears in the T20 Blast tournament.

In the 6th over bowled by the West Indian pacer, Stokes smashed Brathwaite for two sixes and a boundary and collected 16 runs from that over. And, many fans have gone wild reacting to Stokes hammering Brathwaite.

While one fan felt that it was the way Karma works, another felt that Stokes had finally managed to get his revenge. Yet another fan opined that Stokes had remembered Brathwaite’s name for long. Another fan even photoshopped the picture of Ben Stokes from the 2016 T20 World Cup and replaced it with Brathwaite’s picture. All in all, the fans surely had a lot of fun seeing Stokes smash Brathwaite in the T20 Blast tournament.

As far as the match is concerned, the Durham side comfortably beat the Birmingham Bears outfit by 34 runs. After posting a total of 164/8 on the board, the Durham outfit managed to restrict their opposition for a total of 130.

Ben Stokes produced an excellent all-round performance for the Durham side. He scored a quickfire 20-ball 35 with the bat and followed that up by picking up 4 wickets with the ball as well. And needless to say, Stokes walked away with the Player of the Match award.
