Rohit Sharma, on way to his first of the three ODI double hundreds, created a world record by hitting the most number of sixes (16 sixes) in an innings in 50-overs format surpassing the then world record of 15 sixes hit by former Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson. He hit 16 gigantic sixes setting Bangalore’s M Chinnaswamy stadium on fire with his breathtaking knock as India won the match by 57 runs against Australia.

On the other hand, the Indian skipper who prefers to play grounded shots over lofted shots will find it very difficult to surpass this record held by Mumbai Indian’s skipper just because of the nature of cricket he plays and not because of his inability to hit sixes.

Kohli is equally competent of hitting maximums, however, the Delhi-born batsman prefers to play classy shots along the ground. The six hitting machine, Rohit Sharma from Nagpur, also holds a unique record of reaching a century with a six in all three formats of the game.
