Cricketers across the globe are finding it difficult to sit back at home during the lockdown. It is quite hard on the professional players to keep them away from the game for so long. But, everything is done to protect them from the Coronavirus. However, some international players have found ways to train and practice inside their homes. And, Tim Paine is one of those cricketers. But he had to pay a heavy price for the same.

Tim Paine, the Australian international is leading the national side after 2018 infamous ball-tampering scandal. Cricket Australia (CA) appointed him as the skipper of the national side as a replacement for Steve Smith, who was found guilty for their involvement in the same.

Since then he has done a convincing job as he took his team from Ashes to glory, who were struggling at one point to win games after their main players were banned from the game. Now, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the Australian Prime Minister has announced lockdown in the country. So, he had some time off from the game. But his love for the game cannot be ignored due to which he had to suffer some loss in a recent incident.

Tim Paine’s purse stolen from his car

Actually, the Aussie skipper converted his home garage into a gym. For doing so, Tim Paine parked his car outside the home to get some vacant space and this gave air to an unwanted robbery. In a recent interview, Tim Paine, the Australian Test skipper said that he woke up early in the morning and had a message from NAB regarding some movements on his bank account.

He rushed out to and saw that his car was open. The robbers stole his purse and some other things as well according to Aussie skipper. He also added the fact that the robbers might be hungry as they went to McDonald’s straightaway. Soon, the news broke in the media and Kookaburra sent him some string balls so that he can hook them up in his garage and carry on with his practice.

“I woke up this morning to a message from NAB saying I had some interesting movements on my account. I went out and the (car) door was open and my wallet and a few other things had gone. Actually looking at my account, the boys went straight to Maccas – the boys must have been hungry,” Tim Paine said as quoted by cricket.com.au.

“Since that went on the radio, I’ve had a message from (sponsor) Kookaburra and they’re going to send me some balls on a string that I can hook up in the garage and start training,” Paine added.
