Virat Kohli celebrated the 11th anniversary of his Test debut on Monday, June 20. It was on that very day in 2011 that an ambitious batter from Delhi donned the whites for India for the very first time against the West Indies at the Sabina Park in Jamaica and there has been no looking back for him since then.

On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of his Test debut, the batting megastar shared a special video on social media to celebrate it in a unique manner. The video montage comprised many memorable moments featuring both Kohli and Team India in the last few years which also saw their emergence in this format.

Virat Kohli gets candid on his Test debut

Taking to his official Twitter handle, the batting icon posted a 17-second video that featured all his achievements and accomplishments in red-ball cricket. The creatively impressive video starts with Kohli first logging in on his PC by entering his password, then selecting a particular file that has treasured fond memories of his excellence in Test cricket.

The video features him celebrating his individual and collective achievements including centuries and series victories along with on-field celebrations with his teammates.

Ever since he burst on the scene in Test cricket, Virat has gone on to set a benchmark for himself in the traditional format of the game, registering 27 centuries and seven double centuries. Meanwhile, the former skipper played his 100th Test match in March this year and also went on to breach the 8,000 run-mark. Overall, Virat Kohli has played 101 Tests and has amassed  8043 runs averaging 49.96.

It is his captaincy stint from 2015 to 2022 that has stood out the most as India never lost a home Test series under him. The Indian team was also at the pinnacle of the ICC rankings for 42 months i.e. from October 2016 to March 2020. Under Kohli’s rein, India won their first-ever Test series on Australian soil in the 2018-19 season.

Under him, India took a 2-1 lead in the inconclusive five-match Test series against India. The rescheduled fifth and final Test match will be played at Edgbaston on July 1. However, Kohli, who has stepped down as India’s captain across formats, will only feature in this clash as a pure batter.
