‘Told you to take my words positively’ – Shadab Khan pokes fun at Mohammad Amir on the latter’s birthday

Mohammad Amir, the former Pakistan cricketer, turned 28 years old on Monday and wished flowed in for the talented fast bowler. Though he hasn’t played in the last few months and was left out for the series against Bangladesh, he remains to be a crucial member in the fast bowling armoury. He recently was a part of the Karachi Kings in the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

There he was among the leading wicket-takers and took the Kings to the semis, which had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the meantime, Shadab Khan, who was the skipper of the Islamabad United, wished his fellow Pakistan bowler on the auspicious occasion.

However, the youngster didn’t miss out on trolling his mate with a hilarious message. The tweaker funnily prayed for Amir’s shoulder to stay injured and also wished for his own happiness.

Shadab took to Twitter and wrote, “Happy birthday @iamamirofficial bhai Allah mujhy khush rakhy Ameen or aap ka shoulder kharb rakhy Ameen.” (May almighty keep me happy and keep your shoulder injured).

Amir didn’t miss out on hitting back. The left-hander asked Shadab to say positive things about his shoulder. Amir replied to Shadab and wrote “Dafa ho allah na kare shub shub bol.” (Go away, speak positive)

Then Shadab reminded Amir of an incident during the World Cup where the latter picked up a fifer with an injured shoulder. Shadab then replied and wrote, “Bhai aap nay World Cup ma jaab 5 out kaye thy aap ka shoulder kharb tha taab bola positive lain na aap Mary baat ko.” (Brother, when took the fifer in the WC, your shoulder wasn’t at best, then I asked you to take my words positively)

Mohammad Amir’s five-wicket haul came against Australia in Taunton. In 10 overs, Amir bowled a couple of maidens and was the best Pakistan bowler on the day by a country mile. Despite his efforts, the Aussies notched 307 runs in their 50 overs. Replying to the huge score, the Men in Green crumbled for 266 in the 46th over.
