In the 2nd Qualifier game of 2014 season, KXIP blown away CSK with some powerful batting. After been put into bat, Punjab got off to a flyer, led by Dashing batsman Sehwag and young Vohra. They shared a stand of 110 of the first wicket and made a platform for big ending. Sehwag scored a powerful 122 supported by a quickfire 38 from Miller. Despite of losing wickets at the end, they ended on 226 for 6. In the end, even after a fight from Raina, Chennai lost by 24 runs.

This was a really important game for the Royal Challengers in context of the tournament; they need to win a few games and with considerable margins to better their chances of qualifying for the play offs. And when the requirements are large someone larger than those needs to step up and exactly that happened. It was a boisterous knock from the West Indian Chris Gayle; he batted RCB to a win single handedly with his 57 balls 117. Skipper Kohli and AB de Villiers contributed to the total as well. And when the Kings came out to bat, the RCB bowlers gave them absolutely nothing to go for and what we saw was one of the finest pace bowling show by two young left arm pacers, India’s S Arvind and Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc both of whom accounted for 4 wickets each. The RCB skipper Virat Kohli has lost the toss against SRH as Bangalore batted first to post a total of 227 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. After losing Chris Gayle for just 1 run, Virat Kohli with the help of AB de steadied the team&#8217;s score with a partnership of 156 for the 2nd wicket. Captain Kohli scored 75 runs with 7 fours &amp; 3 sixes. Player of the match AB scored 82 with 7 fours &amp; 6 sixes. IPL sensation Sarfaraz Khan&#8217;s 10-ball 35 runs helped Royal Challengers to reach the total of 227. Kohli&#8217;s team won the game quite convincingly by 45 runs.

Batting first, CSK got off to a flyer with Hayden and Vijay opened with a 62 run stand in 5.5 overs. Raina fell soon but Vijay got a brilliant support from Morkel. They went over the Royal’s attack smashing them for the biggies. They shared a stand of 152 in just 66 balls and led their team score to end at 246 for 5. Vijay top scored with 127 whereas Morkel scored 63.

In the 2nd Qualifier game of 2014 season, KXIP blown away CSK with some powerful batting. After been put into bat, Punjab got off to a flyer, led by Dashing batsman Sehwag and young Vohra. They shared a stand of 110 of the first wicket and made a platform for big ending. Sehwag scored a powerful 122 supported by a quickfire 38 from Miller. Despite of losing wickets at the end, they ended on 226 for 6. In the end, even after a fight from Raina, Chennai lost by 24 runs.

This was a really important game for the Royal Challengers in context of the tournament; they need to win a few games and with considerable margins to better their chances of qualifying for the play offs. And when the requirements are large someone larger than those needs to step up and exactly that happened. It was a boisterous knock from the West Indian Chris Gayle; he batted RCB to a win single handedly with his 57 balls 117. Skipper Kohli and AB de Villiers contributed to the total as well. And when the Kings came out to bat, the RCB bowlers gave them absolutely nothing to go for and what we saw was one of the finest pace bowling show by two young left arm pacers, India’s S Arvind and Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc both of whom accounted for 4 wickets each. With the AB fire works towards the end RCB piled on 226 on the board for the loss of 3 wickets in their 20 over’s.

The RCB skipper Virat Kohli has lost the toss against SRH as Bangalore batted first to post a total of 227 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. After losing Chris Gayle for just 1 run, Virat Kohli with the help of AB de steadied the team&#8217;s score with a partnership of 156 for the 2nd wicket. Captain Kohli scored 75 runs with 7 fours &amp; 3 sixes. Player of the match AB scored 82 with 7 fours &amp; 6 sixes. IPL sensation Sarfaraz Khan&#8217;s 10-ball 35 runs helped Royal Challengers to reach the total of 227. Kohli&#8217;s team won the game quite convincingly by 45 runs.

 7. Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings, 2014: 231/4

Another occasion on which KXIP scored merry against CSK. Starting with an early blitz from Sehwag, Maxwell and Miller continued it with some power batting. Maxwell’s 38 ball 90 and Miller’s 47 led KXIP towards 200. But their captain Bailey’s 13-ball 40 led them to end at 231 for 4. Punjab managed to win the game by 48 runs after restricting Chennai for 187.

It was dashing openers’ night at Kolta as Warner and Sehwag went over KXIP’s bowler mercilessly. Sehwag fell for a 35-ball 77 after sharing a stand of 146 in just 70 balls. Warner too fell for 77 soon after Sehwag’s dismissal but Venugopal and Naman Ojha powered the score to 231 for 4. In the chase Punjab managed to score 202 and fell short by 29 runs.

Mumbai Indians bowlers were subjected to some raw treatment, though they got rid of Gayle early in the innings. Skipper Kohli made the most of the life given to him and AB de, what do I tell off him, he is the most exciting batsman in world cricket today. Some breath taking batting, unnamed shots, a few classy strokes and lot of brute pushed RCB to 235/1 at the end of 20 over’s. Both Kohli and AB were unbeaten in the end on 82 (50) and 133 (59).

In a sunny afternoon at Chennai, Chennai Super Kings made things much hotter for Rajasthan Royal scoring the second highest score in IPL history. Batting first, CSK got off to a flyer with Hayden and Vijay opened with a 62 run stand in 5.5 overs. Raina fell soon but Vijay got a brilliant support from Morkel. They went over the Royal’s attack smashing them for the biggies. They shared a stand of 152 in just 66 balls and led their team score to end at 246 for 5. Vijay top scored with 127 whereas Morkel scored 63.

Towards the end, 31-run innings in just 8 balls from De Villiers delivered RCB to end at 263 for 5. Gayle remained unbeaten on 175, the highest individual T20 score. Later, RCB bundled Pune for just 133 to win the game by 130 runs.
