<p>This left-handed opener was a powerful and aggressive opener. An opening batsman who can score runs at a quick pace is always an asset for any team and he did play the same role for Australia. He was strong, both physically and mentally. Initially, he struggled with his technique in Tests but soon eliminated his technical flaw considerably and emerged as a match winner. Hayden performed well against the best of the oppositions to win matches and has made valuable contributions for Australia. Overall, Hayden played 103 Test matches for the Aussies and was part of 71 victories.</p>

<p>The younger of the Waugh brothers, Mark Waugh was one of the most elegant stroke makers of his generation. To complement his batting skills, he offered handy part-time bowling as a medium-pacer-cum-offspinner and a remarkable penchant for spectacular saves and catches. He played 128 Test matches before quietly retiring in 2002. Out of those matches, he had featured in 72 successful Test outings for Australia.</p>

<p>Sachin Tendulkar bore the burden of millions of hardcore cricket fans. Tendulkar was an incredible team player. As a batsman, he dominated almost every bowler in the world and piled up runs against every country. And, if the situation demanded, he could bowl his mixtures of medium pace, off breaks and leg breaks to provide crucial breakthroughs for India. He had been a long servant of Indian cricket and played 200 Tests in his career. Sachin played in 72 won matches and 56 lost matches. He was part of 72 drawn Tests as well. India was very inconsistent and was still trying to create a formidable name in the Test format. Thus, most of the matches India played were drawn contests.</p>
<h4><strong>7. Adam Gilchrist (Australia) &#8211; 73:</strong></h4>

<p>Adam Gilchrist redefined the role of wicket keeper batsman in cricket. The aggressive left-hander had the capability to run away with the match within no space of time. Initially began as a lower middle order batsman but soon started playing as an opener for Australia. His partnership with Matthew Hayden proved to be lethal for most of their oppositions. It would not be wrong to say that Australian cricket was blessed to have a wicketkeeper-batsman of his class as they are very difficult to find. Gilchrist was a part of 73 won matches out of the 96 Test matches he played. Another interesting part is that Australia lost only 11 Test when Gilly was a part of the lineup and drew 12 matches.</p>
<h4><strong>6. Mark Boucher (South Africa) &#8211; 74:</strong></h4>

<p>Mark Boucher was a highly competitive individual and a natural aggressor. He was South Africa’s premier wicketkeeper-batsman for many years. He was an agile wicketkeeper who pulled off amazing diving catches and quick stumpings. An unfortunate eye injury ended his 15-year long career. But, until then, Boucher had already claimed 555 Test dismissals in his career. As a batsman, he could quickly score 30-40 runs to speed up a run chase as well as could spend the whole session just knocking the ball to save the team from losing. He was part of 74 victories for the Proteas in the 147 Tests matches he played for them.</p>
<h4><strong>5. Jacques Kallis (South Africa) &#8211; 82:</strong></h4>

<p>Jacques Kallis is regarded as the greatest all-rounder. Kallis was a solid batsman who scored runs in every challenging condition. He was a complete package as a player. In addition to his outstanding batting capabilities, he was an equally good wicket taking fast medium bowler. These qualities made him an indispensable part of the South Africa team. Jacque Kallis was part of 82 victorious outings out of the 166 Test matches he played for South Africa. But at the same time, he also featured in 42 lost and drawn matches respectively.</p>
<h4><strong>4. Glenn McGrath (Australia) &#8211; 84:</strong></h4>

<p>Glenn McGrath is the one the greatest Australian fast bowler in its cricketing history. McGrath was a match winner for Australia in the longest format of cricket. His troublesome off-stump line and tremendous control over his bowling line got Australia many early breakthroughs. He was very effective with the new ball and would generate enough seam movement to make the batsmen edge the ball to the wicket keeper. McGrath made his debut in the year 19922 and played 124 Test matches. Overall, he was part of the triumphant team 84 times in his career.</p>
<h4><strong>3. Steve Waugh (Australia) &#8211; 86:</strong></h4>

<p>Steve Waugh was the man of crisis for Australia. Waugh was a talented batsman who evolved continuously and eliminated flaws from his game. He succeeded Mark Taylor as the captain of the Australian Test side and led them to a world record 15 of their 16 successive Test victories. Before retiring from Tests, he had played 168 matches for Australia and was part of 86 “won” matches.</p>
<h4><strong>2. Shane Warne (Australia) &#8211; 92:</strong></h4>

<p>Shane Warne is the man who was largely responsible for the rebirth of leg spin. Warne was a match winner with the ball in Tests. Some of his wickets are mind-blowing. Warne with 708 wickets stands only second to Muthiah Muralitharan when it comes to the most number of wickets taken in Tests. His match-winning capabilities are unquestionable. He also had the company of equally good teammates. Warne represented Australia in 145 Tests and was part of 92 successful outcomes in Tests.</p>

<p>Ricky Ponting is the most successful captain Australia has ever had. His record of leading a side that conquered the world is impeccable. No captain or even a player has ever come close to being as successful as Ponting in the game of cricket. He had incredibly talent players to back his superb leadership skills. Ponting played 168 Test matches in which he scored more than 13,000 runs for Australia and was part of 108 victorious Test matches.</p>
