The WACA (Western Australian Cricket Association Ground) is situated in Perth. This ground, established in 1893, was built on old swamp land. The WACA earned a reputation for being a fast and hard track with lot of bounce. As a result of the redevelopment in 2002, the permanent capacity of the stadium is of 22,000 spectators. The first ODI on this ground was played between India and New Zealand on Dec 9, 1980. Australian great Dean Jones with 545 runs to his name is the highest run-getter on this ground. The ’Sultan of Swing’ Wasim Akram has claimed 26 wickets and has the highest number of wickets on this ground. In all, WACA has hosted 78 ODIs till now.
