Top 11 Moments of the IPL 2015: Indian Premier League (IPL), Festival of Indian Cricket or as they are calling it “India Ka Tyohar”. With the presence of Star studded International players to the unknown domestic heroes, this IPL had it all. As the eight season of IPL comes to an end, let’s take a quick flash back at the eleven special moments we encountered throughout the IPL season. 1. Faf Du Plessis running out Parthiv in the Finale: Faf Du Plessis run out. Faf’s commitment on the field is a commendable, he gives all it takes to save a run or to grab a catch. Throughout the Season 8 Faf has provided with brilliant fielding wonders but the special one was reserved for the finals as he ran Parthiv out with an off balance throw. The fact that he was not in complete control of his body, but still managed to successfully run out Patel is what makes it really special. Splendid, Brilliant, Majestic are all perfect fits for his effort. 2. Dwayne Bravo’s Catching: Dwayne Bravo Catch. It’s hard to pick a favourite or the best out of all the catches that he took as they all left the fans in awe. The Purple Cap holder also has the most number of catches by a player in this edition of the Indian T20 league. 3. Kholi’s Winning Shot Against SRH: Virat Kohli Winning shot. (Photo Source: BCCI) The class of Virat Kholi doesn’t need any introduction, the Indian test skipper has lead RCB with aggression and valor. In doing so Kholi has gave us one of the best moments of the IPL, with just 4 runs needed off 2 ball balls Kholi hits the ball in the air, heart beats were raised as the ball was going straight in the hands of Warner, who caught it and amidst the celebration realized that he had touch the ropes with his feet and it eventually resulted in a six. 4. Tim Southee and Karun Nair’s Tag-team catch: Tim Southee and Karun Nair Relay Catch. (Photo Source: BCCI) The fielding standard in the eight season of IPL proved to be the best by far, with unbelievable catches being pulled off and sixes being turned into wickets. One such catch that probably displayed both teamwork and awe was the catch by Southee and Nair form Rajasthan Royals in the 3rd match against KXIP. 5. Harbhajan’s Two wickets in an Over: Harbhajan Singh MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) The Turbunator proved why he has been among the most successful off-spinners for Indian cricket team when he scalped the wickets of both the vice-captain and the captain of Chennai Super Kings on consecutive deliveries. Singh’s over in the qualifier turned out to be the game changing moment for the Mumbai Indians. Dismissing Raina and Dhoni in single over that too in back to back deliveries demands a special mention. 6. Pollard Putting a Tape On His Mouth: Kieron Pollard MI. In the match against Royal Challenger Bangalore the MI all-rounder was asked not to talk too much by the on-field umpires, Pollard answered in his own unique way by putting a Tape on his mouth for the rest of the game. 7. Christopher Henry Gayle has been known for his animated celebrations on the field and this season too he provided us a special one when he enacted the famous Christiano Ronaldo style celebration after scoring his century against KXIP. 8. KXIP v RR Super Over: KXIP vs RR Super Over. (Photo Source: BCCI) IPL has seen a lot of last over finishes, nail-bitters but nothing gives you the thrill of a Super Over. This IPL season also witnessed one between the Kings XI Punjab and the Rajasthan Royals, what looked like an easy win for the Royals turned out to be a match being decided by a super over and finally resulting in favour of the KXIP who won it in the super over. AB de Villiers has been a star performer for the RCB in the IPL, a lot was expected form him and the star delivered when it mattered the most. In the match against Mumbai Indian the South African lighted the stadium up with his cracking innings of 133 runs of just 59 deliveries, this was not the first time he scored a century in IPL and it surely won’t be his last. 10. Russell’s Fastest Half – Century: Andre Russell KKR. (Photo Source: BCCI) The big bloke from Jamaica can’t be left out of the special eleven of Pepsi IPl 2015, Russell’s performance with both the bat and ball has been outstanding throughout the season, but the West Indian is on the list for a specific performance with his bat, his fastest fifty against Kings XI Punjab scoring 51 runs of just 19 deliveries smashing four 6’s and five 4’s Russell smacked the KXIP bowler all over the park. 11. Suresh Raina Missing Out On 400 Runs: Suresh Raina Scored 400+ in all 7 seasons but missed in the 8th season. (Photo Source: BCCI) Talking about the IPL how can one leave Suresh Raina out of the conversation, the leading run scorer in all IPL seasons is the only CSK player to have played every single match for the team. Raina is the only player in the history of IPL to successfully scored 400+ runs in every season of IPL till the seventh season. Though this time he failed to live up to his expectation, which was quite a shock for his fans.
