As mention earlier, Smith loves playing against England. It was in 2015 when Lord’s witnessed something special as Smith’s double hundred was instrumental in a massive 405-run win for the visitors against England. Batting first, Australia racked up a mammoth total of 566/8 before declaring.

Smith scored his first double hundred, combining with Chris Rogers in a stand of 284 for the second wicket. He hit 25 boundaries and a six in his knock which comprised 346 deliveries. This knock is even more special as it came in the “Home Of Cricket”.

Smith ended up scoring a marvellous 215, which is still considered as one of the greatest knocks by a visiting batsman in England. The batting maestro from Australia backed it up by scoring a 58 of just 48 balls in the second innings at Australia went on to beat England by a whopping 405 runs. Thus, his 215 will go down in the record books as an all-time great knock.
