When the World T20 began, it did not appear to be a batsmen’s tournament. The wickets were slow and dry and batsmen found it really difficult to get going. As the tournament progressed, the pitch wore a slightly friendly look but run scoring was still not easy. It was made sure that competition between bat and ball is even. But, regardless of the challenges, the World T20 saw some extraordinary batting shows. The ‘Willow Wielders’ took the challenge head on and adapted very quickly to scores heaps runs for their teams.

5. Jos Buttler – 191 Runs:

Jos Buttler can be described as England’s savior in tough times. Buttler, batting in the middle order played a couple of delightful cameos for his team against South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies in the Super 10 stage. He continued to impress with his hard hitting in the knockouts as well. In the semi-final against New Zealand, he blazed quick cameo of 32 off just 17 balls. In the all-important final, when the team was struggling to get quick runs, Buttler entered and smoked 36 off just 22 balls. All his entertaining performances accounted to 191 runs in 6 games at an average of 47.75.
