Shaun Pollock always dreamed of a hundred in the ODI format, but batting at number 7-8 didn’t give him much chance to fulfil that dream.
But the dream came true in the inaugural Afro-Asia cup in 2007. In the first match, the Asia XI scored a respectable 317 runs with contributions of Mahela Jayawardene and Mohammad Yousuf who scored 65 and 66 respectively.

Africa XI was reduced to 83-7 when Shaun Pollock took matter into his own hands and completed a much deserved ton for the all-rounder. Pollock scored 130 runs but Africa XI lost by 34 runs.
