3. Shaun Marsh

The prolific left-hander from Australia has hit a purple patch at the moment and there seems to be no stopping him when it comes to limited overs. Marsh has been consistent against the white ball and he is still a force to reckon with, even on Indian pitches. The 35-year-old has a safe pair of hands and his very presence in the batting-order is enough to unsettle the opposition. In 69 IPL innings, Shaun averages an impressive 39.95, striking at a healthy rate of 133.

With the form that he is in at the moment, many would consider Marsh to be unlucky to have missed out on an IPL contract for the 11th edition of the cash-rich league. Perhaps, a base price of 2 crores was understood to be a bit too high by the franchises.
