Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi was in awe of Virat Kohli’s dedication during a net session. On Tuesday, October 5, Kohli, who’s currently playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2021 Indian Premier League, posted a video where he can be seen batting in the nets. Kohli must be high on confidence as the Challengers have already made their way through to the playoffs.

Although Kohli has strained a wee bit with the bat in hand, he has led the team with dignity. Placed at No.3 in the points table, RCB are set to play their next league game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday, October 6 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. They also have the chance of toppling Chennai Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, to the second position in the table.

In the meantime, Afridi, who last played international cricket back in 2018, said that in order to become a great player, one should put efforts during practice as well.  He took to Twitter and wrote, “Treat to watch – A great player always gives 100% in practice!!”

Afridi is currently a part of the Kathmandu Kings XI in the 2021 edition of the Everest Premier League, taking place at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. He has played only one game in the tournament against the Lalitpur Patriots where he didn’t get a chance to bat and went wicketless, conceding 32 runs in his spell of four overs.

Prior to that, he plied his trade for the Rawalakot Hawks in the 2021 Kashmir Premier League. The Hawks went on to become the champions, beating the Muzaffarabad Tigers by eight runs in the final. Afridi didn’t have a great time with the bat as he scored 52 runs from four innings at an average of 13. The veteran also picked up eight wickets at an economy rate of 7.50.

Afridi was one of the key players in the Pakistan cricket team. He also held the record for the fastest ODI ton for over a decade before New Zealand’s Corey Anderson toppled him. Afridi has also played in quite a few editions of the Pakistan Super League.
