‘I love you Mahi’ – Girl’s throwback proposal to MS Dhoni in the presence of his wife Sakshi

MS Dhoni’s fan-following is pretty much an open secret ever since he made his debut against Bangladesh in Chattogram. He started as a swashbuckling cricketer, but groomed himself into a calm and composed personality. Not only has he entertained the fans with his fearless display of stroke-play, his style statement has also become hot topics for discussion on quite a few instances.

When he came to the fore, he used to sport long golden-streaked hair, but then changed it as his career progressed. His fandom among the female population has been worth envying. The now 40-year-old Dhoni has carried himself gracefully and his personality attracted a number of girls. One of the girl supporters even went to the extent of proposing Dhoni in front of the latter’s wife Sakshi.

The incident happened back during the 2018 Indian Premier League when the female fan displayed a banner where she called the Chennai Super Kings’ skipper her “first love”. The official Twitter handle of the International Cricket Council posted the picture of the same. “Sorry Future partner, but MS Dhoni will always be my first love. I love you Mahi,” the poster read.

Back in 2018, CSK went on to become the IPL champions for the third time after defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final by eight wickets at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Back then, Dhoni’s men had also equalled Mumbai Indians’ record of most IPL titles, but the latter toppled CSK after emerging victorious in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

In 2019, the Super Kings and MI met in the IPL final in Hyderabad where Rohit Sharma’s team edged out the Yellow Army by one run. It also happened to be Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga’s last game in the IPL. 2020 wasn’t a pleasant year for CSK as they failed to qualify for the playoffs despite winning their last three games. But in 2021, they are placed in the top two.

As far as Dhoni is concerned, he remains a fulcrum of the CSK setup. Having played 217 matches in the IPL, the veteran has been a part of number of ups and downs for the Super Kings over the last 13 years.
