The trend of picking your best XI has been going around for a while as former and current players list down their favorite 11 which they would want to have on their side. New Zealand speedster Trent Boult who is currently playing the Indian Premier League sat down to name his dream bowling line up.

The 28-year-old Kiwi named his teammate Tim Southee as the first choice in a video message to ICC. Southee started his career for New Zealand prior to Trent Boult and has represented the side in 60 Tests and 133 ODIs. Southee has 220 Tests wickets and has got 176 victims in the ODIs.

Southee, Akram, Steyn, and Hadlee in the dream bowling lineup

Trent Boult in the video said that Southee has been his bowling partners for all his career so he will put him in the group of his dream bowling lineup. Boult then said that the next will be two of his bowling idols naming former Pakistan legend Wasim Akram and South Africa speedster Dale Steyn. Notably, Akram is often named as one of the best fast-bowlers ever to have played the game while Dale Steyn is a modern day bowling legend.

Boult then named his former countrymen, all-rounder Richard Hadlee as the fourth bowler in the bowling attack. According to Boult, the mentioned 4 will make a hell-of-a-bowling-attack.

Interestingly, along with Southee, Boult has made a lethal bowling unit and has been helping the side win a number of games. Boult has played 54 Tests and 66 ODIs for New Zealand where he has picked up 215 Tests and 122 ODI wickets respectively.

Boult is representing Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League and has been impressive in the first few games of the tournament. However, his side hasn’t been able to perform up to the mark and are lowest in the points table of the 11th edition of the tournament. The Kiwi bowler would love to perform and change the fortunes of the side.
