The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to kick-start the big action in the form of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) from September 19, with the final to take place on November 10. The cash-rich league will be played in three cities namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. With the tournament less than a month away, all the IPL franchises along with their players and support staff reached UAE last week.
As per the health guidelines, all the cricketers and staff members are serving a mandatory six-day quarantine period and will be undergoing rounds of COVID-19 tests in their respective hotels and resorts before they will be allowed to practice on the grounds. Cricketers are finding it hard to pass their time while being locked in a hotel room. Thus, many have resorted to entertaining themselves by training in their rooms or passing hilarious comments on their fellow cricketers’ social media posts.
On August 25 (Tuesday), Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan took to Instagram to share a picture of himself, enjoying the sunshine in Dubai. Dhawan captioned the picture as “Sunny Dubai bringing out the smiles,”
Kuldeep and Chahal take a cheeky dig at Shikhar Dhawan
Soon after Dhawan shared the picture on his official Instagram handle, Indian team bowling duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav took a hilarious dig at the swashbuckling batsman. Noticing the hair of Dhawan, Kuldeep mocked him saying that your hair has grown now.
While giving a reply to Kuldeep, Chahal teasingly added that since Dhawan’s wife is not with him, he doesn’t get beatings and there is less stress for him too which has resulted in him growing some hair on his head. Kuldeep commented on Dhawan’s post, “Baal aa gye hai ab to”
To this Chahal replied, “@kuldeep_18 bhabhi Australia mein hai bro so no pitai Abhi.. toh baal aagaye samjh rahe ho na samjh rahe ho na @shikhardofficial,”
Not the one to step back, Dhawan also joined the banter and trolled Chahal. Giving a warning to the spinner, Shikhar that he has been married for years now but Chahal should keep a check on himself as recently got engaged. The cricketer further advised Yuzi that he should stay alert or he will lose his front teeth.
“Baba hum toh puraane chawal ho gaye. Tu abhi naya hi engaged hua hai, tu sambhal ke chal kahin aagey waale badey daant aur bahaar nah aa jayein, samjh gya nah,” Dhawan replied.
