Over the last few days, Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has been a recipient of severe flak from the public. He has often been criticised for his biased comments while being on air. A supporter even went on to complain about the 53-year-old veteran to the International Cricket Council (ICC). His altercation with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is an open secret now.

Manjrekar called Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces’ player and also said that he doesn’t like the Saurashtra cricketer. The commentator also said that he is a proper bowler in Test cricket and isn’t fit to play One Day Internationals. The harsh comments agitated Jadeja to a large extent and he lashed out on Twitter, sending a stern message to Manjrekar, also a former Indian cricketer.

Sanjay Manjrekar greeted with brickbats

The cricketer asked Manjrekar to show some respect to people, who have achieved something in their lives. The southpaw was also fed with the commentator’s ‘verbal diarrhoea’. “Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea,” Jadeja’s tweet read.

After the outburst, netizens stood beside Jadeja and slammed Manjrekar left, right and centre. Later Michael Vaughan trolled Manjrekar after the latter picked Jadeja in his predicted playing XI for India’s semi-final match against New Zealand at the Old Trafford in Manchester.

Thereafter, Manjrekar decided to spring another surprise as he dropped a tweet where Jadeja’s dismal bowling performance versus the Black Caps was put forth. He compared his numbers with that of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s regular limited-overs spinners. Quite evidently, he didn’t want Jadeja to be picked.

Even popular actor Siddharth termed his commentary as ‘crass’ and asked to ‘stop babysitting an idiot’. In the meantime, television actor Nakuul Mehta took a dig at Manjrekar through a video. In the clip, he was seen, sitting on a toilet pot. He was being accompanied by one of his friends, who was helping him analyse the situation and the duo took a dig at Manjrekar.
