Twiter Reactions: Chris Lynn blasts Brisbane Heat to victory

It was raining sixes at the GABBA in Brisbane as Chris Lynn slammed an entire host of sixes to help the Brisbane Heat to what was certainly an impressive win at their home ground. Lynn’s massive striking also saw him slam the ball into the crowd to complete the match as he concluded his innings on 84 from just 50 deliveries.
However, the first of the sixes the 26-year old Lynn smashed into the stands was one that was to the magnitude of 121 meters long. This ensured that a new ball had to be brought out to replace the one stuck in the haven of the roof with the wild hopes of having it recovered someday.
While it was the fireworks of Chris Lynn that definitely stole the show as well as probably add to the fireworks in the initial stages of the innings when the actual fireworks saw a bit of smoke run across the park. In fact, Lynn’s knock also took a bit of steam off the 35-ball 72 smashed by Brendon McCullum, who was clearly in his element on the night.
While McCullum’s four sixes certainly paved the way for the rest of the innings to unfold, one cannot forget the contribution made by the bowlers. Of course, it was the slingshot arm of Shaun Tait that rattled into the stumps of Alex Ross, but the Heat bowlers in the form of Samuel Badree, Jack Wildermuth, and even Mark Steketee helped in more ways than one.
As far as the Hurricanes were concerned, it was the terrible omen of sorts when D’Arcy Short, Kumar Sangakkara, and a few others simply could not capitalize on the start they had helped themselves to. Instead, it was Jonathan Wells who was tasked with the terrible ordeal of ensuring that the Hurricanes reached a competitive score against a Brisbane Heat side riddled with talent.
