The Kolkata Knight Riders registered their 7th win of the season to sit comfortably at the top of the points table. Skipper Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa continued their merry run with the bat. While the innings played by the skipper was blemish free, Uthappa was riding on his luck. On such moment arrived when Delhi Daredevils fielders – Amit Mishra and Sanju Samson – made a mockery of a potential catch.

Robin Uthappa has made it a habit of punishing the bowlers after having given an early let off. He was dropped early in the innings in the previous match against Rising Pune Supergiant. He had then gone on to register a masterly 87 with the bat. Today, against the Delhi Daredevils, Uthappa was dropped on 9. Well, it could not even be termed to be a dropped chance.

The two fielders in contention for the catch, Amit Mishra and Sanju Samson, felt that the other person would complete the catch and ended up making a joke for the audiences watching it. The action perspired in the 6th over of the match. It was the 4th delivery of the over when Kagiso Rabada ran in hard to bowl to Uthappa. He bowled a short delivery that rose sharply on the middle-order batsman.

Uthappa was seen hurried on to the pull shot. He failed to make the timing right and ended up with a thick top edge of the blade. The ball went high up in the air towards the square leg umpire. Sanju Samson came running from the mid-wicket region to catch the ball. Meanwhile, Amit Mishra, who was placed at short fine leg, also came in running to claim the catch.

Just when the ball was about to land, both players stopped and none went for the catch. All they did was to end up looking at one another hoping that the other person would catch it. The ball landed right in between them. Amit Mishra was seen giving a serious stare to Samson. The latter opted to walk away without looking at a bemused Mishra.

The Twitterati went berserk at the way the stares were exchanged between the two and came up with some hilarious tweets.
