Rohit Sharma is one of the funniest cricketers in today’s game. Though he might look serious while batting or fielding during a tense situation, but in between overs and in periods of a lull during a match, his antics help lift up the morale of the team.

In the ongoing first Test between India and South Africa in Vizag, Rohit made his debut as a Test opener and scored 176 in the first innings and added more than 300 runs with Mayank Agarwal, who made 215, his maiden ton as well. In the second innings, as well, Rohit has crossed fifty and helping India try to put up a healthy target for Proteas to chase.

Earlier, South Africa replied in kind to India’s 502/7d with 431 runs with Dean Elgar making 160 and Quinton de Kock making 111, with valuable contributions from Du Plessis and Bavuma as well. Rabada made a quickfire 15 as the tail-enders added 46 runs on day four to stretch the total much to the disdain of Indian bowlers. Ravi Ashwin picked 7/145 on his Test comeback.

During his partnership with Pujara, Rohit Sharma was getting frustrated with Pujara’s inability to take quick singles and something snapped in him when he asked his partner to come for a relatively quick, but easy single. Rohit took off, but Pujara sent him back after taking a few steps, as he didn’t want to risk his wicket.

This led to Rohit cursing him out and asking him to trust his call and that he will make his ground. Rohit seemed to say that, “Pujji bhaag b******d, mai pohonch jaunga waha (Run Pujara, I will reach your end).”

Apparently, Pujara who was playing quite restrictively until then received a message from Kohli during the drinks and started taking apart the Proteas bowling. The cursing seemed to work as well, as the Saurashtra batsman, who had 8 runs from 61 balls, completed his fifty in 106 balls and even hit a six, along with 9 fours.
