Team India were down and out in Dharamsala. Some exceptional bowling from Sri Lanka, combined with the assistance from the track saw the mighty Indian lineup fall apart like ten pins. It was a disastrous start for Rohit Sharma as the captain of the Indian team. The stand-in skipper had a tough time in the match with the bat too, and could only muster 2 runs.

But as the adage goes, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. The venue changed and the action moved to Mohali for the second ODI. It is a do or die game for the Indian side. A defeat in the match would mean the series all gone. Amidst this backdrop, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan walked in to open the innings for India.

There was a little to offer for the seamers up front and no wonder why Sri Lanka opted to bowl first after winning the toss. The Indian openers did really well to play out the new ball, as was not the case in the previous game. Both Rohit and Dhawan showed great character to notch up a century run stand.

The fans absolutely loved the way the Indian team bounced back after the debacle in Dharamsala. Rohit Sharma, in particular, received some serious praises for his effort with the bat. He hit a classy century against the islanders, the side who had faced his wrath en route his record shattering double ton as well.

Talking about the innings, it was a sluggish start for Rohit Sharma. Shikhar Dhawan was the aggressor in the partnership and Rohit nurdled around for singles. After a century stand that was worth 115 runs, Dhawan perished. Rohit then stepped on the accelerator to go great guns. It was only a matter of time that he reached the coveted milestone. Rohit reached the three figure mark in just 115 deliveries with 9 fours and a six.

Here is how the social media reacted to his knock:
