Sanjay Manjrekar is a person who is very vocal about his thoughts on social media. The cricketer turned commentator has, on numerous occasions grabbed attention with his opinions on social media.

And now, Manjrekar has opened up and stated that social media platform Twitter is a double-edged sword. He also stated that there have been many occasions when Twitter has not served him well.

Manjrekar further admitted that social media is a beast and he has not yet been able to tame it or understand it completely. He concluded by stating that he is still trying to figure out the dynamics of social media.

“Twitter is a double-edged sword. It has served me well on occasions and hasn’t served me well on many occasions. Now, at this stage, when you sort of balance it, I think it has done me more harm than good.

“Social media has been a beast that I have not been able to tame or understand. I’ve tried different techniques, but yeah still trying to understand the dynamics of social media,” said Manjrekar in a chat with ESPN Cricinfo.

Sanjay Manjrekar’s recent comments on Ravichandran Ashwin drew him a lot of flak

Sanjay Manjrekar had recently opined that Indian spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin is not an all-time great in the Test format. Ashwin is the 4th highest wicket-taker for India in Tests and has scalped a whopping 409 wickets in the whites already.

Manjrekar had further stated that only the likes of Sir Don Bradman, Sir Garfield Sobers, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virat Kohli can be considered as all-time greats. And, this comment from Manjrekar received a lot of attention, and the cricketer turned commentator drew a lot of flak and faced heat for his comments on Ashwin.

“All- time great’ is the highest praise & acknowledgment given to a cricketer. Cricketers like Don Bradman, Sobers, Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Virat etc are all-time greats in my book. With due respect, Ashwin not quite there as an all-time great yet,” Manjrekar had tweeted.
