Twitter Reaction: India play like champions to lift the Asia Cup with authority

India won the Asia Cup T20 in supreme style with a 8 wickets win over hosts Bangladesh in the final. Skipper MS Dhoni was the man to do it for the team and he had his deputy Virat Kohli at the other side who once again showed his love for chase. Shikhar Dhawan also stood up for India and ensured there were no hiccups after they lost Rohit Sharma early.
Batting first the home team had a poorish start with a couple of wickets but it was once again Shabbir Rahman and Mahmudullah who gave their innings a perfect end with knocks of 32 and 33 respectively. 121 looked tricky to get in 15 overs and once India lost Rohit Sharma it looked difficult. But Shikhar Dhawan who has been out of form through the Asia Cup T20 rose to the occasion and scored a wonderful half-century. His stroke filled 60 not only got India closer to the target but also broke the shackles of pressure. Virat Kohli at the other end was also at his best striking beautifully.
Following the game Indian team director Ravi Shastri said: “I just told them today that it is the final. Just remember the celebrations that Bangladesh had when they beat us in the ODI series, so just go out there and get the bloody job done (smiles). This is a damn good all-round side. If we get off to a good start, we can chase down any score. If there is anything that we need to improve, it is the bowling department. I was not surprised one bit to see them chase this down easily. When you have a team like this, it makes it so exciting.”

Dhawan either building to an epic or setting things up so someone else has to play an epic to get India across the line. #AsiaCupT20Final

Ashish Nehra looking eerily youthful. Rare clean shaven Indian cricketer in this day and age. No designer stubble. #AsiaCupT20Final
