A plethora of tweets erupted when Shahid Afridi went ahead and announced his retirement for the umpteenth time. This was quite clearly a hard decision as far as someone like Afridi would have been concerned given the fact that he has been dubbed as somewhat of a comeback king in terms of his comebacks to international cricket.

However, despite this, the 36-year old has been one of those quite impressive in a career spanning a couple of decades. Afridi announced himself to the international stage all those years ago in 1996 with a blistering 37-ball century. Since then, he has been one of the most prominent parts of the Pakistan cricket team with some impressive performances.

He also showcased that his incredible bowling acumen as well with his ability to spin the ball both ways. This was quite impressive in retrospect given the fact that he was perhaps one of the better players in the Pakistan bowling unit as well. He was one of those players as well who could bowl the bouncers with his leg-spin making the rounds at 130 kmph, something that is certainly not viewed in these days.

This will certainly be the last time that we perhaps see the 36-year old Pakistani all-rounder in the grand scheme of things given the fact that he has done this almost three times. Twitter simply exploded with tweets, most of whim trolled him for the manner in which he had announced his retirement on more than one occasion. However, what happens from here on out remains to be seen. It is widely disputed that he will go ahead and head his foundation.
