Twitter Reactions: Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe to take home the T20I series: Afghanistan had come to Zimbabwe expecting to earn experience and in the process also try and win a few matches, but as they close the series with the 2nd and the last T20I at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo they will take home the ODI and T20 series winner’s trophy. The 2nd T20I between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan came very close, the visitors at one stage needed 40 runs from half the number of balls, but Gulbadin Naib’s unbeaten half-century ensured they won with a ball to spare.
Elton Chigumbura won the toss and elected to bat first, but the decision looked edgy as Dawlat Zadran once again struck early to remove Chamu Chibhabha for a duck and soon Zimbabwe they were two down for 30 inside 4 overs. Thereafter Sean Williams and Richmond Mutumbami took control of the innings and scored 54 and 43 respectively. With late contributions from Waller and Madziva they managed to get to a par looking 190 in their 20 overs.
Coming in to chase 191, though the task looked big, but the Afghan batsmen were up for it right from the start. Their top three, Mohammad Shahzad (24), Usman Ghani (65) and Gulbadin Naib (56*) made the job easy as Ghani guided his team home to a famous victory with his unbeaten half-century.
