All-rounder Hardik Pandya played a gem of a cameo for India with an entertaining 27 runs off just 12 balls. With a magnificent strike rate of 225, Pandya smashed 2 huge sixes and one boundary.

Earlier, Pandya walked out to bat at No.5. It was considered as a surprise move as he batted above both stalwarts Yuvraj Singh and skipper MS Dhoni. However, the move worked wonders for India as he struck really hard and was successful.

With India 127/3 at 14.3 overs, the home team wasn’t looking good enough for 200 as they after slumping with the run-rate in the middle overs. However, Pandya along with Suresh Raina built a partnership of 59 runs from just 26 balls as they powered the Indian total to 196/6 in their full quota of 20 overs.

The Baroda boy smashed the Sri Lankan mystery spinner Senanayake for 2 consecutive sixes to destroy his confidence. He came true to the faith showed by the skipper in his abilities as he was selected ahead of spinner Harbhajan Singh and all-rounder Pawan Negi on a wicket that would definitely assist them with the ball.

His hard-hitting cameo took a toll on the Lankan bowlers and gave India the momentum they lost after losing the opening pair. Twitter kept everyone entertained throughout the cameo. Starting from lauding Pandya to then trolling the Sri Lankan bowlers.
