The Chennai Super Kings thumped the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the marquee clash at Pune. Coming in to the game, the buzz was high among the fans. They knew that the contest was between the best batting lineup and the best bowling lineup of the season. And after the game, the result was in the favor of the hosts, who found it a little too easy to chase down 179 with 8 wickets in hand.
Earlier in the game, the Chennai Super Kings had won the toss and had no hesitation in bowling first. They backed their ability to chase and were confident about doing well at their homme venue. Deepak Chahar made a comeback for them in the game and made an impact straightaway. He dismissed Alex Hales on 2 early on in the game. After Hale’ dismissal, Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson added a handy partnership to bring the visitors back in the hunt.
The two senior men added 123 runs for the second wicket to get back in the game after the sluggish start. The partnership was broken after Dwayne Bravo dismissed Dhawan on 79. Dhawan’s knock came off 49 deliveries. On the very next delivery in the next over, Kane Williamson was dismissed on 51 off 39 balls by Shardul Thakur. The dismissals of the two set batsmen in quick succession put a sudden brake on the innings. Late in the innings, Deepak Hooda chipped in with an unbeaten 21 to see Sunrisers Hyderabad finish with 179/4 in their 20 overs.
In the run chase, the talk was all about the Chennai Super Kings openers. Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu continued their good form with the bat. The two veterans stitched a marathon 134 run stand off just 81 deliveries. Watson was dismissed on 57 that came off 35 deliveries. Suresh Raina (2) fell soon after.
On the other hand, Ambati Rayudu went on to score big and became the fourth centurion in the season. Rayudu remained unbeaten on 100 off just 62 deliveries with 7 fours and as many number of sixes. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 20 at the other end to ensure that the hosts were over the line in 19 overs.

Last 2 games the bowling has not been upto the mark for @SunRisers is it a concern? Batting has become better but bowling just might be a slight concern for Williamson. Well played Rayudu.

Sid Kaul suddenly seems a different bowler post his India call-up. Two very poor games. Won't cost SRH much as far as the tournament is concerned, but a good wake up call. #CSKvSRH
