West Indies did it and did it in style. They won an astonishing match, worthy of a World T20 final against England at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata to lift their second World T20 title and becoming the first team to do so.

West Indian captain Darren Sammy had won the toss and rightly elected to field first on the Kolkata pitch that held the ball and gave spinners a fair chance. Samuel Badree picked up two huge wickets up front and kept England in a bind in the first 6 overs. But Joe Root and Jos Buttler made sure that England got to a defendable total and they got some great last overs impetus by David Willey. England made 155.

Morgan deployed Joe Root in the second over who got the openers and they soon had Lendl Simmons with just 5 runs on the scoreboard, but West Indies had Marlon Samuels and Dwayne Bravo to bring them back into the game and then Carlos Braithwaite took center stage along with Samuels whose 85* may be the greatest T20I innings of all time and Braithwaite blasted four sixes when 19 were needed from last Ben Stokes over. West Indies men replicated their women’s team’s title victory and became the first team to win the World T20 two times.

Twitter went crazy with most of the cricket crazy fans sharing the Champions Dance of the West Indies team in the center on Twitter. We also had Olympic champion Usain Bolt celebrating the West Indian title win. Here is an assorted collection of tweets from various celebs, cricketers and fans who congratulated and celebrated the West Indian World T20 2016 win:
