India's mouth-watering clash against England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup is all set to commence in front of a full house at the Adelaide Oval. While there were speculations on the Indian team opting for both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik in the playing eleven, Rohit Sharma has nodded in favour of the former, resigning Karthik to the bench to the disappointment of the fans.

The Men in Blue had stuck with the veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik for the entire tournament barring the last Super 12 game against Zimbabwe. But the team has gone forward with the same eleven as the previous game, leaving Karthik out of the team in favor of the southpaw.

While Pant has been warming the benches for the best part of India's campaign this year, his power-hitting abilities in front of shorter square boundaries gave him the edge over his senior cricketer. Not to mention he is the only left-handed batter in the Indian top five, providing much-needed versatility to the batting unit, dominated by right-handed batters.

The India team will bat first in the match after Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to field first in the crunch encounter. Mark Wood and Dawid Malan miss out due to injury for the Three Lions, with Phil Salt and Chris Jordan, drafted into the eleven to replace them.

The fans on Twitter were clearly not amused by the team management's decision to draft in Rishabh Pant for such a crucial game when they had stuck with Dinesh Karthik for the previous matches.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the Indian team's decision to drop Dinesh Karthik in favor of RIshabh Pant:
