T20 World Cup 2024: Top 10 Memes from AUS vs OMA, Match 10

Australia kicked off their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign by taking on Oman. Both sides locked horns in the 10th game of the tournament at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, on Thursday, June 6. The clash began with the Aussies coming in to bat first after losing the toss. 

David Warner and Travis Head opened the innings for the Men in Yellow, but Head was dismissed for just 12 runs in 10 deliveries. However, the knock of veteran Warner stabilised the innings for Australia. Warner amassed 56 runs in 51 deliveries, helping Australia reach a fighting total.

Mitchell Marsh scored 14 runs in 21 deliveries, alongside Marcus Stoinis, who played a marvellous knock in the middle order, scoring 67* runs in 36 deliveries as Australia managed to post a total of 164 runs in the first innings of the game. 

As for Oman, Mehran Khan was the highest wicket-taker for the side in the first innings with two wickets to his name. Bilal Khan took one wicket alongside Kaleemullah, who took one wicket as well.

Aiming to defend the target of 165 runs, Australia got off to a brilliant start as Oman openers Kashyap Prajapati and Pratik Athavale were dismissed for seven and zero runs, respectively. Aqib Ilyas scored 18 runs in just as many deliveries, with Zeeshan Maqsood and Khalid Kail scoring one and eight runs, respectively. 

Ayaan Khan was the highest run-getter for Oman during the run chase, with 36 runs to his name, alongside Mehran Khan, who added 27 runs on the board, However, the knocks were not enough to propel Oman to a win as Australia limited the side to a score of 125 runs, winning the game by 39 runs. 

Marcus Stoinis was the highest wicket-taker for his side in the second innings with three wickets to his name. Nathan Ellis, Mitchell Starc, and Adam Zampa took two wickets each as well.
