Alyssa Healy became the latest international cricketer to share her views on Harmanpreet Kaur's run-out dismissal in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 semi-final clash. She said that Harmanpreet didn't give her best while completing the run to cross the crease, which has left Twitter divided.

The star Australian wicketkeeper-batter took the bails off from Ashleigh Gardner's throw to run out the Indian captain in a thrilling semi-final clash in Cape Town on February 23. This wicket proved to be a game-changing moment as Australia managed to defend 172 runs to win the game by just five runs. Harmanpreet kept her team's hopes alive in the chase by smashing 52 off 34 but was unfortunate to get run out.

While completing a second run, Harmanpreet seemed relaxed as she thought she will easily pass the crease. She even held the bat in her left hand and that proved costly. Her bat got stuck to the ground and she couldn't complete the run on time.

After the game, Harmanpreet revealed that it was one of the unluckiest ways to get out but Healy believes that if the former had genuinely put in the effort then she could have passed the crease.

"Harmanpreet can say all she likes that it was so unlucky but I mean at the end of the day she cruised back and probably could have been passed the crease. You know, an extra two meters if she genuinely put in the effort, so we’ll take it. Well, that’s right, I mean, you can, you could say you’re unlucky all your life but it’s genuinely about effort and energy at that moment in time. And I know that’s something we speak about in the field in particular is putting in that effort and putting in that energy,” Healy said while speaking to ABC.

Healy also highlighted the importance of running between the wickets by saying that that's where Australia are winning the big tournaments.

"And I think that comes back to running between wickets as well. It’s doing those little basics better than the opposition and that’s how you win big tournaments. And I feel like we’ve been doing that quite well," Healy added.

However, Healy is not the first one to share her views on Harmanpreet's dismissal. Former Indian captain and legendary bowler Diana Edulji lambasted Harmanpreet for being casual with her run. Fans are also split over Healy's comments on Harmanpreet's run-out and took to Twitter to express their views.

My 1st thoughts when I saw the replay of the run out were that Harmanpreet Kaur was guilty of ball watching but some strong & interesting comments from Alyssa Healy To say that Harmanpreet can call it unlucky but running wasn't really great is brave, especially just before #WPL twitter.com/abcsport/statu…

"Harmanpreet can say all she likes that it was so unlucky." 👀 For all young cricketers wanting to learn the value of staying alert on the field, listen to Alyssa Healy. 100% correct.👍

Totally agree with what Alyssa Healy has to say about @ImHarmanpreet .. “You could say you're unlucky all your life, but it's generally about effort and energy at that moment in time” If I were to add my bit, she was lazy & stupid. Learn from mistakes, don’t go look for sympathy twitter.com/wionsportsnews…

Alyssa Healy is absolutely correct here! One should always stay alert in a game! But won't deny the fact that Harmanpreet was not fully fit but still gave her 200% in a game! This was all about luck rather than staying alert! #T20WorldCup #AUSvIND

@UtdArc Hahahaha what Healy said is absolutely correct .. it wasnt bad luck... it was more to do with the lazy running and the lack of technical basic knowledge that one has to slide the bat down rather than plonking it on at the last moment .. even Mandhana has that problem ..

I don't see anything worthwhile, for the outrage over Alyssa Healy's statement on Harman . There wasn't anything outright wrong in what she said. If this is about arrogance in her tone and shit like that, then that is highly subjective and not worth of logical criticism.

Don’t like Alyssa Healy but need such type of characters. Also, can’t treat women international cricketers with kid gloves if you want them to considered at par with the men. The Mumbai vs UP matches in WIPL should be fun. twitter.com/abcsport/statu…

@abcsport Alyssa Healy needs to learn to stay alert too.. she dropped two catches in that game. Had Harman not run herself out, Aus would've lost. Healy was caught napping too, in the same match 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
