Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an emotion as fans are thronging to stadiums just to have a glimpse of him. As Chennai Super Kings took on Mumbai Indians on Sunday, the spectators were waiting with bated breath for Dhoni to arrive at the crease. MI won the toss and opted to bowl first. CSK batters had done a fabulous job by piling up runs, but it was the former CSK captain who stole the show.

The captain cool came out to bat in the 20th over just after Daryl Mitchell was dismissed by Hardik Pandya. With just four balls remaining of the penultimate over, the 42-year-old walked out to bat. He unleashed mayhem at the Wankhede Stadium as he dispatched the very first ball to long off for a six. He then the second ball to wide long-on for another maximum. The third delivery went sailing over deep square leg making a hat-trick of sixes.

CSK’s score was 186 runs before Dhoni arrived. He then propelled the total to 206 in a span of four deliveries. His scorecard read 20 runs in four balls at a strike rate of a whopping 500. The final over mayhem saw CSK amass a staggering 26 runs and put them in the driver's seat. It is worth noting that the wicket-keeper batter played his 250th Indian Premier League game with his appearance against MI on April 14.

CSK make interesting tweak to their opening pair against MI

Earlier CSK surprised everyone as Ajinkya Rahane opened the innings with Rachin Ravindra in place of regular opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. The move however turned out to be a sorry affair as Rahane was dismissed on five runs by Gerald Coetzee. Gaikwad entered the fray and stitched a 90-run stand with Shivam Dube. The partnership was an integral part of CSK’s innings that bailed out them of early collapse.
